AMS Safety
Crossing Zojila & Fotula can cause mountain sickness. Drink plenty of water and rest in Kargil.
Permits
Inner Line Permits (ILP) are required for Leh sightseeing (Nubra, Pangong), but not for the drop from Srinagar.
Connectivity
BSNL and Airtel Postpaid work best. No prepaid SIM from outside J&K/Ladakh works here.
Cash Only
ATMs are scarce beyond Srinagar and Kargil. Carry enough cash for meals and stays.

Common Questions
Can we cross in 1 day?
While possible, we strongly discourage it. Crossing 420km of mountain roads takes 12-14 hours, is extremely tiring, and increases the risk of altitude sickness.
Are meals & stay in Kargil included?
No, the taxi fare covers vehicle, fuel, and driver allowances. Accommodation and food for guests are to be arranged separately.
Can Srinagar taxis do Leh sightseeing?
No. Per the Ladakh Taxi Union rules, Srinagar taxis are for drop-only. For internal sightseeing (Pangong, Nubra), you must hire a local Leh-registered taxi.
